we have arrived. Where are we

We have arrived safely in Santa Rosa del Sara, Bolivia.  We are truly in the middle of nowhere.  Look it up on Google Maps and you will agree  Neither it nor the road it is on is in my Bolivia guidebook ($20 well spent).  The weather is quite hot during the day, but the evening is pleasant.  We have had our orientation to the hospital and have sorted supplies.  We start seeing patients in the morning and start OR cases tomorrow afternoon.  This is the first MMI project in this town and they will be the first operations performed at this hospìtal.  Needless to say we are short on supplies and using almost entirely what we have brought and what MMI already had on the ground in Bolivia.  That said, it looks like it will be sufficient for the type of operations we have planned.  They have installed a new air conditioner in the OR.  So far it doesn´t work.  They are going to try and fix it in the morning while we are doing preop exams.

Communication might be scarce as we will be busy and there are few internet cafes open after hours.  I´ll update you as often as I can.  As for now, I´m going to share the PC with the rest of the team.
