Pardon the brevity

My transcriptionists from the office will tell you to appreciate it for what it is – a rarity.  It’s late, the internet service is quiet sketchy, and we start early tomorrow.  Highlights of the first 40 hours or so are mentioned below in no particular order and will eventually require explanation.

-          Smooth travels through Miami, La Paz, and Santa Cruz

-          Cleared customs in record time (left the tampons at home)

-          Last minute hotel change (no wi-fi, pool, or 5-foot tall flightless bird)

-          The restaurant next door has a sign featuring Jesus and Snow White (guess who’s bigger?)

-          It’s never too hot for hot chocolate (especially when preparing to do diabetes education in the chocolate capital of Bolivia)

-          First patient gave me three thumbs up

-          Worried that instrument shortage may slow us down a bit

-          Orientation pamphlet substituted the word “hostages” for “hosts” – priceless

OK.  Off to bed before we begin our first operative day – hoping to pull off five cases tomorrow, but I should know better than to have expectations on a Monday.
